Personal Nutrition Profiles

[BioMarkers]  [Good Food]  [Good Mood]  [Good Days]  [Your Days]  [Create Your Own Profile]

Functional nutrition is a science-based strategic approach to addressing one’s overall metabolic health; assessing and supporting the underlying causes of physical and mental imbalances through individually tailored therapies to restore health and improve function.
Nutrition therapy’s approach to health is to consider the whole person and develop a unique treatment protocol that will support the body and initiate its ability to heal itself.

With functional testing, a more in-depth assessment of your current state of health is attained and can guide the development of your program for optimal supplement and dietary support. Functional tests are used to identify how well various systems within the body are working and measure the progress of the recommended protocols.

Through a Personal Nutrition Profile, a nutrition therapist can help you achieve your goals in a healthy and holistic way, working to optimize metabolic processes in order to prevent or manage imbalances and dysfunction; such as blood sugar imbalances, chronic inflammation, neurological degeneration, or weight management issues.

The Personalized Nutrition Profiles allow us to look at your starting point so that we can map out the best route to take on the road to wellness.

The REAL benefit is priceless: insight into your unique biochemistry; discovering what might be the root cause of your discomfort, where you might be headed for disaster, and science-based actionable solutions.
If you have any of the following concerns, consider a Personal Nutrition Profile, so that you can stop guessing about your health and wellness.
    • Inability to lose fat and weight
    • Low energy, the "blahs"
    • Poor focus, concentration
    • Memory issues
    • Cravings for sweet and/or salt
    • Difficulty building muscle mass
    • Wild mood swings
    • Chronic mood and behavior issues: anxiety, depression, anger
    • Voracious appetite
    • Lack of sex drive
    • Wanting better skin, hair and nails
    • Embarrassing gas and bloating

The doctor of the future will give no medicines, but will interest his patients
in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the causes of disease.

Comprehensive Wellness Assessment - The program begins with a Comprehensive Wellness Assessment, lasting on average 1½ hours, during which we will review your medical, nutrition, and diet history as well as your lifestyle patterns and discuss your concerns in detail. You will be asked to complete a few forms prior to the session which will be discussed during our time together. The comprehensive wellness assessment is the first step in your nutrition and wellness program; a review of your current eating and lifestyle patterns, health history, personal goals, concerns and expectations will all be discussed during the session, from which you will receive foundational recommendations and Wellness Action Guidelines for immediate  implementation. This assessment is often followed up with any additional tests and the Strategy Session, detailing next steps and therapeutic outline.

Functional Nutrition Analysis - After completing the Comprehensive Wellness Assessment, we will have a good understanding of your situation and the appropriate test profile(s) to complete the Functional Nutrition Analysis, evaluating your physiology and metabolic imbalances through a blood chemistry analysis, saliva and/or stool testing.

Report of Findings & Strategy Session - A plan is put together based on the analysis of the Comprehensive Wellness Assessment and Nutrition Profiles. The plan will include recommendations for whole foods, therapeutic supplements, herbs and lifestyle changes to restore balance and target your specific needs and goals.

Continued Care Options - Ongoing support is recommended in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the program and determine if any adjustments need to be made along the way.  If you choose personal follow-up support, packages of six (6) follow-up sessions are available. Additional options include enrolling in a group or joining a community membership programs.  Creating balance and developing mind-body consciousness is a process that takes time. Often you experience a lot of changes in the first six months, but still need additional and on-going support, which is why I created the Online Membership Community.

Lab Requisitions & Test Kits
This specific panel of tests can be ordered online through Direct Laboratory Services.

1. Place your order through DirectLabs online at www.directlabs.com or complete your enrollment application and the tests will be ordered for you and you will generally receive the lab requisition via email within 48 hours after your enrollment application has been processed.

2. For a list of LabCorp facilities based on zip code, visit the Lab Locator website.

3. You must have the orders/requisition from DLS prior to going to the lab.  All blood draws are a fasting draw – do not eat for 10-12 hours prior to the test.  Do drink 16 oz. of water the morning of your test.  Also helpful, note the day's food intake prior to the blood draw.

DirectLabs works with LabCorp.  The labs have Patient Service Centers or draw centers, staffed by certified phlebotomists - experts in blood draws.
YOU MUST HAVE THE LAB ORDER (REQUISITION) FROM DIRECTLABS
BEFORE YOUR BLOOD CAN BE DRAWN.
Additional tests: ALCAT Food Sensitivity Test Kits and Diagnostechs Hormone Kits, are mailed directly.

*These tests do NOT replace seeing a physician and having routine medical testing done.  Functional testing augments conventional testing to help support your optimal wellness and longevity.
