Alcat Food Sensitivity Testing

Food Sensitivity Testing
Food sensitivities are quite different than food allergies and can go largely undetected and un-diagnosed for most individuals. Where as food allergies cause an immediate immune response when offending foods are consumed, food sensitivities cause a much more subtle, delayed reaction in the body that is harder to pin point.
Why we frequently feel sick . . .
Symptoms provoked by food sensitivities occur when our immune system begins perceiving foods in the same way it perceives things which are actually harmful, such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites. This causes the release of toxic chemicals called “mediators” (such as histamine, cytokines, and prostaglandins) from our immune cells.  It’s the inflammatory and pain-inducing effects of the mediators that give rise to symptoms, which ends up making us feel sick.

Conditions & Symptoms Linked to Food Sensitivities:
  • Irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, functional dyspepsia (heartburn), diarrhea, abdominal pain, cramping, bloating
  • Migraine and other chronic headaches, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, joint pain, muscle pain, muscle weakness
  • Autism, ADD/ADHD, fatigue, tiredness, insomnia, general malaise, restlessness, “brain fog”
  • Hives, eczema
  • Excess mucous production, chronic post nasal drip, asthma, chronic congestion, chronic allergies
Do you often feel gassy and bloated after eating?  Have you been plagued with digestive disorders like irritable bowel syndrome manifesting as chronic diarrhea or constipation? How about indigestion? All of these can be potential symptoms of food sensitivities.
Dr. Marcela Dominguez from Complete Care Family Medicine in Mission Viejo, CA discussed the Alcat Test, and her success story due to the wellness programs with the Alcat diet.
Dr. Jaston T Bradley, naturopathic physician from Washington Street Wellness Center in Iowa City, IA.  He discussed eliminating toxins to help lose weight.  Through the use of the Alcat test he has seen his patients improve their energy, well being, with amazing and unexpected results which include dramatic weight loss.

The ALCAT Food and Chemical Sensitivity/Intolerance Test provides both clients and healthcare professionals with a tool to successfully overcome a wide variety of conditions, such as digestive disorders, migraines, obesity, chronic fatigue, mood issues, skin disorders and arthritis, which result from food and chemical sensitivities.

Allergies and sensitivities to certain foods often go unnoticed for years because the symptoms are not immediate. Symptoms may include unexplained rashes, skin issues, headaches, digestive issues, bloating and gas, exhaustion, and more.  Delayed allergies to specific foods and chemicals (sometimes called sensitivities) can be identified through a simple blood test.  This type of testing is essential for identifying “hidden” allergies that may go undetected by traditional methods such as skin testing.  Testing identifies the relevant foods and substances associated with many types of chronic inflammatory and metabolic disorders.
Research has shown that patients with IBS, migraine headaches, fibromyalgia, chronic depression, and many other conditions have higher than normal levels of these mediators circulating throughout their bodies.  For many, the “trigger” that causes the mediators to be released can be linked to foods or chemicals in their diet.  Food sensitivity symptoms are usually chronic because the mediators that make us feel sick are released every time the reactive foods are eaten and if those foods are never discovered, getting better and staying better becomes a long-term never-ending struggle.

Food sensitivities can occur at any age, triggering many different symptoms and contribute to a variety of disorders.  The ALCAT test measures all pathways of the immune system from one simple non-fasting blood draw.
  • You'll learn the foods that cause mild / moderate / severe reaction.

  • The "reaction" is the inflammatory response at the cellular level.
The ALCAT© Food Sensitivity Test measures levels of inflammatory markers specific to 50-200 foods that can cause reactions at various sites in the body, including the small and large intestines, skin, kidneys, ears, sinuses, head, lungs, and joints. Offending foods can cause a person to hold onto false fat, cause gas, bloating, fatigue, and skin issues, among other things.

Follow-up sessions will guide you through a digestive health and support program with guidelines for food elimination, replacement, rotation and re-introduction as well as digestive system repair and rebuilding guidance.  This is a must for anyone that has suffered from chronic digestive issues, mood and behavior concerns, chronic headaches or autoimmune conditions.

What Others Have to Say:
When I was unable to maintain the level of exercise my body was used to, I knew I needed to adjust my diet. Vicki gave me a program to follow, which was at first difficult. But like any habit, once I got through the initial changes, I was fine. Not only did I maintain, with some exercise, I am loosing the unwanted fat. I lost a size and a half on my waist and I've been able to keep that off for over 2 years. Thanks to Vicki's encouragement and consulting, I'm healthier and feel great.   - Ben C.
Vicki has been a key part in the recovery of my daughter's emotional and physical health. She caringly helped her to become more aware of how her eating habits were affecting her energy levels and sleeping habits.   - Debbie A.
