Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis

What Does Your Blood Have to Say?

A blood chemistry analysis offers the most comprehensive measure of your current state of health.  The test results are assessed using an ideal “functional” range. Unlike a “laboratory range” which is based largely on sick people, the functional range is based on the ranges found in healthy people. 

It has been discovered that blood test scores often change before symptoms develop.  Knowing about these changes can empower you to catch illness at its earliest stages. 

Testing over time is critical to achieving and maintaining optimal health. Testing over time allows one to monitor their diet and lifestyle changes; making sure that scores remain in the “functional” range and that supplementation amounts are correct and could possibly be reduced or eliminated.

Why look at “Functional” Ranges vs. “Normal” Lab Ranges
Normal ranges are useful for diagnosing illness and disease. That is what they were designed to do: help our medical system focus on the people who need treatment the most and allow the insurance companies to contain their costs. But, they are very different than the Optimum Ranges used in a Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis  - for prevention and optimal wellness. Normal Ranges are determined by taking approximately 100 to 200 people who recently tested with a particular lab (normal ranges do vary per lab-they are determined by each individual lab and not a centralized agency). These people’s results are then averaged. These results are generally based on sick/not healthy individuals. The average of the results of sick people’s blood scores become the middle of the Normal Range for others. 

Functional Ranges are customized to your unique biochemistry. When your scores are within the functional ranges, your body will be operating at a level that will help you be truly healthy.  Scores outside the Functional Range can be improved by changing your diet, exercise, and supplement plans. You will receive a plan that  outlines the recommended steps to take that will support your health and physiological systems.  If you want to know if you are healthy, you will need to compare your blood test scores to something other than Normal Ranges.
